Former NBA Commissioner David Stern Calls Jazz Fans NBA’s Best
The Jazz Fan Show already knew (obviously), but it’s nice to have it officially on record.
Former NBA Commissioner David Stern (predecessor to current NBA Commissioner Adam Silver) led the league owners from Feb. 1, 1984 to Jan. 31, 2014.
The NBA saw its most significant growth during Stern’s tenure. His time included some of the most legendary NBA players of all time, including Jazz greats John Stockton and Karl Malone. Michael Jordan, most commonly believed to be the best player in NBA history, also played the majority of his career during Stern’s time leading the league.

The Big East Conference recently interviewed Stern. During the interview, questions about Stern’s time in the NBA became the focus. The interviewer at one point asked Stern who the best fan base in the NBA is.
His response?
“We’ve got some crazy fanbases all over but they’re about as intense as it comes in Utah.”
