Game 10 Takeways – Utah Jazz vs Toronto Raptors

November 7, 2018 by Kelby Jones Leave a Comment

Game 10 Takeaways - Utah Jazz vs Toronto Raptors

Game 10 Takeaways – Utah Jazz vs Toronto Raptors

Jazz drop another and remain winless at home this season.

The Utah Jazz welcomed the Toronto Raptors to Salt Lake City Monday night for the first matchup between these two squads this year.

Toronto was without star Kawhi Leonard (just like most of our other opponents have been without their star…) and on the second game of a back-to-back this road trip.

These two factors left Jazz fans thinking this could be a drop game for the Raptors. However, this early in the year and with a new-look team and organization, the last thing Toronto was looking to do was let one slip away.

Toronto ends up winning this one on the road in Utah 124-111 to become the first NBA team to reach 10 wins this year.

Watch the full game highlights below:

Game 10 Takeaways – Utah Jazz vs Toronto Raptors

Quick Notes

#1 | Shoot The … nvm

Here’s some of Utah’s shooting numbers against Toronto:

FG% – 44.2% (38/86)

3P% – 25.8% (8/31)

FT% – 65.9% (27/41)

I’m sorry but this just isn’t going to cut it if we want to be able to hang with other top-tier teams in the west.

What do you think? Should Utah make a move or should they stand pat and wait for it to start clicking again?

#2 | Good Teams Play Defense… Right?

Let’s take a look at the +/- for three of the Utah’s starters against Toronto:

Joe Ingles: -20

Derrick Favors: -22

Ricky Rubio: -22

I don’t really have anything real to say about this. Just wanted to point it out…

#3 | Rule Change to Blame?

We mentioned in a previous podcast that the new rule changes which the NBA had implemented may actually help the Jazz.

We may have spoke too soon…

In a recent story published by The Deseret News, Rudy Gobert explained how he felt the new NBA defense rules are hurting the team’s ability to defend as a unit.

“A lot. I think it impacts everyone,” Gobert said. “We want to be a physical team and we want to impact the other team’s movement. It’s a big change and it’s hard with all those screens and guards that are using that as an advantage to get fouled. It’s hard, but it’s the same for everyone so we have to adapt.”

Will this be a continuing issue for the team moving forward? Let’s hope Quin has the answer.

#4 | The Right Piece

I mentioned this earlier, but does the Utah Jazz organization need to bring in one more piece this season? I really want to know your thoughts and suggestions for good players who may fit well in Utah’s system.

Submit your suggestions via Twitter (@JazzFanShow)

#5 | Threat Level Midnight

At what point do we decide to freak out a little bit as a fan base?

How many games do we need to lose before it’s appropriate to start getting mad?

Oh, and should we ever BOO the home team?

Hopefully I can stop asking myself these questions soon and start asking how long until the playoffs start.

Game 09 Takeaways – Utah Jazz at Denver Nuggets

November 4, 2018 by Kelby Jones Leave a Comment

Game 09 Takeaways - Utah Jazz at Denver Nuggets

Game 09 Takeaways – Utah Jazz at Denver Nuggets

Jazz Fall Apart in 4th Quarter, Move to 4-5 on Season.

The Jazz played the second game of a (second) back-to-back Saturday night in Denver. Utah’s second game in as many nights came against a red-hot Denver Nuggets teams currently 8-1 on the year.

Donovan Mitchell returned for the Utah Jazz after missing the previous game against Memphis with a tight hamstring. Donovan, along with three other Jazz players (mentioned below) all experienced injuries at one time or another that looked serious.

Luckily for the Jazz, none of these injuries ended up as bad as they looked. The game, on the other hand, was another story.

Utah Jazz lose their third straight game in Denver 102-88.

Watch the full game highlights below:

Game 09 Takeaways – Utah Jazz at Denver Nuggets

Quick Notes

#1 | Win the Games You SHOULD Win

…and when you lose the games you should lose, nobody will care as much…

I don’t think it’s Threat Level Midnight yet, but there are definitely some Jazz fans panicking.

Should we be panicking? If not, at what point should we?

#2 | A Silver Lining… Of Sorts…

At different points during this game, Rudy Gobert, Joe Ingles, Donovan Mitchell and Dante Exum all looked like they could have sustained serious (potentially season-ending) injuries.

Luckily for the Jazz, each of these players were able to return to the game at some point or another.

My question is how long can these Jazz players take this kind of abuse night in and night out? Was Denver just a fluke game, or is this how teams play the Jazz moving forward?

#3 | A Tale of Four Quarters

Game 09 Takeaways - Utah Jazz at Denver Nuggets

In case you were wondering at what EXACT moment things went back for the Jazz…

#4 | #RememberLastYear

Remember how last year Utah started off really slow, and at one point was in the cellar of the Western Conference?

What happened immediately following that?

Oh that’s right…

Is that what is happening this year also? Is there something to say about players just taking awhile to get back into NBA basketball shape, regardless of what team or teammates they played with the year prior?

When you think about it, all these players went away for the summer, came back, adjusted to the elevation, then went on a huge road trip to cities at or below seal level, then came back to the elevation…

That’s an excuse, but still.

#5 | Looking Ahead

The Jazz have three games this week, two of which they should (probably) lose.

Is Dallas a MUST-WIN game? Are we already seeing a MUST-WIN game this early in the season?

Ugh.

Game 09 Takeaways – Utah Jazz at Denver Nuggets

Prop Results

Probably should mention that none of made any prop picks this game. Trust us, we have a good reason why (we forgot).

Thus, we all have been forced to use the prior game’s picks for this game.

May God help us all.

Game 08 Takeaways – Utah Jazz vs Memphis Grizzlies

November 4, 2018 by Kelby Jones Leave a Comment

Game 08 Takeaways - Utah Jazz vs Memphis Grizzlies

Game 08 Takeaways – Utah Jazz vs Memphis Grizzlies

Round two ends with the same result as round one…

The Utah Jazz returned from its first full-fledged road trip of the season Wednesday evening. There waiting for them, the Memphis Grizzlies and a shot at redemption after the Jazz flubbed the first matchup between the western conference foes.

Those expecting this game to go differently than the first were disappointed yet again, as the game seemed to follow a similar trajectory. The Jazz fell behind early, but not be enough to cause any real alarm. Eventually, Memphis slowed things down to a screeching halt and a last-chance attempt for a come back falls just short.

Memphis ends up leaving Salt Lake City with a second win against the Utah Jazz 110-100.

Watch the full game highlights below:

Game 08 Takeaways – Utah Jazz vs Memphis Grizzlies

Quick Notes

#1 | Free Throws, Free Throws, Free Throws

For my first point, let me present my first article of evidence:

Yep. The Jazz shot 56% from the free throw line.

Free throws seem to have become a bit of an issue for the Utah Jazz this year. It’s getting to the point where I want to buy floor-level seats underneath the hoop just so I can hold up this sign:

I think it will help.

#2 | Donovan and AB Out

Having Donovan out for this game was one thing. But I think we may have missed Alec Burks even more.

Why?

When the Jazz can’t get things going because the other team has slowed things down to a molasses-like pace, Alec Burks is the spark that can ignite the offense.

When Alec Burks is out, this team seems to lack the scoring off the bench that is needed when you face such defensive-minded teams like Memphis.

PS – I recently heard of a trade that could work in the Jazz favor:

Yes or no??

#3 | Jae Crowder in Crunch Time

It seems that when the Jazz get into situations where they need players in the game who they know will come through no matter what, they’ve been relying heavily on one Jae Crowder.

Here’s my question…

How long can the Jazz rely on Jae Crowder in crunch time?

We’ve seen that he can play. We’ve seen that he fits in. But have we seen long-lasting health and consistency from Jae?

Here’s hoping the Jazz can figure out a way to relieve some of that weight which has been placed on Jae’s shoulders.

#4 | Refs and Adjusting Calls Based on Situation

If the refs are calling a game really tight, and it gets to the point where many players have enough fouls to be taken out of the game for fear of ejection, should they stop calling the game so tightly… mid game?

This is a question I’ve been asking myself a lot lately. The rules say no. Emotion says yes.

Maybe this is a good topic for Coach Phil to handle…

#5 | How Good is Memphis Really?

Here’s the truth: Memphis STUNK last season.

It was a well-known fact they were tanking in an attempt to get a good draft pick. PLUS, many of their go-to players were injured and out for the year.

Going into this season, I think many people thought the Grizzlies would be at about the same level, which as we’ve witnessed in Utah, is far from the case.

So how good is Memphis? Will they be able to steal one of the precious playoff spots from Utah?

Game 07 Takeaways – Utah Jazz at Minnesota Timberwolves

Game 07 Takeaways – Utah Jazz at Minnesota Timberwolves

Derek Rose comes back from the dead to score 50 on Halloween night.

The Utah Jazz visited Minnesota for the final game of its most recent, and first road trip of the season. The Timberwolves were without Jimmy Butler, who’s been making headlines lately for the way he’s been acting in practice.

Butler recently requested a trade from the Minnesota Timberwolves organization, and was widely believed to be headed to Houston or Miami. However, the organization is doing everything it can to keep the star and see success this season.

Was Jimmy Butler sitting because he’s about to be traded? We’ll see.

Also sitting for Minnesota was Jeff Teague, which left former MVP Derek Rose to fill in as the team’s starting point guard. Rose went on to score a career-high 50 points, and was seen showing noticeable emotion following the game.

Rose, who previously played for Chicago and Cleveland, has been injured numerous times during his fall from NBA stardom. His most recent departure came from the Utah Jazz, who waived Rose after he was included in the trade which brought in Jae Crowder.

Unfortunately for the Jazz, 50 points from a zombie was too much to overcome. Jazz bid for a perfect road trip falls just short, as the Timberwolves steal the victory 128-125.

Watch full game highlights below:

Game 07 Takeaways – Utah Jazz at Minnesota Timberwolves

Quick Notes

#1 | HE’S ALIVE

Derek Rose put up 50. DEREK ROSE PUT UP 50!

There’s only one explanation:

It was Halloween after all…

#2 | Utah Jazz and Derek Rose

After Derek Rose put up 50, the headlines seemed to read of misdoings by the Utah Jazz.

Social media was the worst of it all, including gems like this heap of trash:

For those who may not be aware: this was the 1st time DRose faced the Jazz since it got him in the Cavs’ makeover & then waived him. Imagine what it felt like for an ex-MVP to be dumped by a franchise that many players, like it or not & recent success aside, see as a last refuge.

— Ric Bucher (@RicBucher) November 1, 2018

So let’s ask ourselves… Did Rose even WANT to play for the Jazz?

Derrick Rose described it as “kind of weird but bittersweet” to be waived by the Utah Jazz earlier in the season. He says he’s now where he want to be in Minnesota and is a game-time decision to face Utah with a sprained right ankle. pic.twitter.com/l0gztBtNVB

— Eric Woodyard (@E_Woodyard) April 1, 2018

You tell me…

#3 | Fighting a Common Enemy

Jimmy Butler has spent the entire season screaming at his teammates during practice.

Recent reports say Butler has been berating his teammates and coaching staff. Apparently, one of his go-tos is: “YOU CAN’T WIN WITHOUT ME!!!”

If you’re on a team that is trying to please a player who has openly demanded a trade, and he’s telling you that you can not win without him, what are you going to do the first game he sits out?

Beat the Jazz by 3. THAT’S WHAT.

#4 | “Hangover” – The Dreaded Word

The final game of a road trip has got to be pretty difficult.

The final game of the first road trip of the season? I can’t even imagine.

As I turned on the TV to watch this game, my brother-in-law mentioned that he was nervous, even if MIN didn’t have Butler or Teague playing.

“Why?” I asked, bewildered.

“It’s the last game of the road trip. They’ve gotta have some kind of a hangover.”

Well congrats on being right, brother-in-law. I hate you for it.

#5 | “Are those ice packs or heat packs?”

At the end of the game, it was hard not to notice the absence of Donovan Mitchell.

Donovan was still on the bench, but sitting at the end (or on the floor) with a wrap around his thigh.

When asked on the television broadcast, Thurl Bailey mentioned that he thought we were seeing heat packs on Donovan’s thigh, because if they were ice packs, that meant the coaching staff was keeping him out the rest of the game.

Unfortunately, they were ice packs.

Eventually we learned the injury was to Donovan’s hamstring.

Is this something to be nervous about? How would the Jazz do without Donovan Mitchell for a stretch of games?

Game 06 Takeaways – Utah Jazz @ Dallas Mavericks

October 28, 2018 by Kelby Jones Leave a Comment

Game 06 Takeaways - UTAH JAZZ @ DALLAS MAVERICKS

Game 06 Takeaways – Utah Jazz @ Dallas Mavericks

Deep Jazz bench steps up on second night of road trip back-to-back.

The Utah Jazz visited Dallas for their second road game in as many nights Sunday to face off against the Mavericks and rookie Luka Doncic.

This was the first game for the Utah Jazz since beating the New Orleans Pelicans in Louisiana Saturday night.

Utah started the game well, but watched Dallas come back to take and even retain the lead for a time late in the second half.

The Utah Jazz were able to get good contributions from some players sitting pretty far down the bench, including career nights for Georges Niang and Rookie Grayson Allen.

Dallas’ comeback would eventually fall short, however. Utah leaves Dallas with the W, 113-104. Jazz move to 4-2 on the season.

Watch full game highlights below:

Game 06 Takeaways – Utah Jazz @ Dallas Mavericks

Quick Notes

#1 | How much wood DUNKS would a woodchuck chuck GOBERT DUNK if a woodchuck could chuck wood NO ONE CAN STOP GOBERT FROM DUNKING?

Remember when we used to say things like “YOU GOTTA DUNK THAT ISH, RUDY!!” all the time when we watched Jazz games?

If the past two games are any indication, that may be a thing of the past.

I will say that while Rudy may not have had such an easy time dunking against DeAndre Jordan in Dallas.

BUT… he made up for it with that soft touch (and french yell) rarely in a player Rudy’s size:

“Throw it down, big man.”
Bill Walton

#2 | No Derrick, No Problem (For Now)

Not a lot to say here. Just nice to see the Jazz replace the production of such a key piece of the team, who’s out with injury.

A lot of that production was made up by….

#3 | Georges Making Most of Minutes Left Behind by Jerebko

After Jonas Jerebko and the Utah Jazz parted ways in the offseason, it became clear Georges Niang would be the closest thing to a direct player replacement in that role this season.

Going into the year, I was curious to see if Niang would actually play as much as Jerebko did last year for Utah. He had just signed his contract recently, and was just a small amount of time out of the G(D) League.

I know it’s still early in the year, but it seems like I’m seeing quite a bit of playing time from Niang. Not that I should be surprised, considering his contribution in the time he’s played this year.

Career night for Niang, who finished with 13 points in 13 minutes.

Helping Niang fill the void left by Derrick Favors was…

#4 | Grayson w/ the Gem

Grayson saw some extended time in this one. Based on the results, he may see more in the near future…

Game 06 Takeaways - Utah Jazz @ Dallas Mavericks

It’s like watching a middle-reliever come in to strike out the side w/ 12 pitches.

#5 | DONNY DUNKO RETURNS

Glad to have him back.

Game 05 Takeaways – Utah Jazz @ New Orleans Pelicans

October 27, 2018 by Kelby Jones Leave a Comment

Game 05 Takeaways - Utah Jazz @ New Orleans Pelicans

Game 05 Takeaways – Utah Jazz @ New Orleans Pelicans

AD’s Absence Helps Jazz Make Light Work of Pelicans

The Utah Jazz continued the first road trip of the season in New Orleans Saturday night. Pelicans star Anthony Davis was a late scratch, leaving Rudy Gobert all but unguarded down low.

In an understatement, the Frenchman made sure the opponent felt his presence.

Nine Rudy Gobert dunks later, Utah leaves Louisiana with the W.

Watch the full highlights below:

Game 05 Takeaways – Utah Jazz @ New Orleans Pelicans

Quick Notes

#1 | “Anthony Davis does EVERYTHING for this team.”

On episode 03 of The Jazz Fan Show, I mentioned how Anthony Davis is everything to the Pelicans. I went on to say that Utah could definitely win this game merely by slowing down AD.

Eventually we learned that AD was not going to be able to play because of a sprained elbow. In the exact same moment, we also learned that the Utah Jazz would win this game.

Dear NOP,
When your team’s entire identity resides in a single player who gets hurt every other game, it’s hard for any of us to take you seriously.
Sincerely,
Basketball

#2 | Welcome back to basketball, Rick.

At the end of last season, Ricky Rubio was playing the best basketball of his career.

At the time, it became apparent that Ricky had grown up. This caused many to start calling him “Rick,” which as everyone knows is the adult form of “Ricky.”

Unfortunately, Ricky decided to play again in his first couple games of the season, causing all of Jazz nation to hold their breath.

Then, in almost an instant, Rick showed up again in New Orleans to help the Jazz best the weird looking birds.

So who’s it gonna be, man? Ricky or Rick?

Personally, I’m still waiting for an appearance from Richard Rubio.

(I think it’s technically Ricard, but you get the point)

#3 | Why are we here?!

After the game, Kristen Kenney asked Rudy Gobert if he was disappointed to not get to face off against Anthony Davis.

He responded by letting everyone know that the team went to New Orleans to “get the win.”

Nothing else.

Mission accomplished, amiright?

#4 | Misunderstanding “Inconsistency”

It seems like there are certain players who can light it up one game and forget how to shoot the next.

Our reaction to this is usually to immediately label the player as “inconsistent.”

This Jazz teams seems to see “inconsistency” fairly often, but what is the root cause?

As I pondered this topic, I began to think about how #TeamIsEverything and how individual performances don’t win games.

That’s when it hit me…

I think what fans see as “inconsistency” is really just Quin Snyder and The Boys taking what the defense gives them.

If Joe Ingles goes off for 27 points in one game, chances are the next opponent will focus in on him and take some of that away.

But by shifting focus ONTO Ingles, the opponent will be shifting focus AWAY from someone else.

So what does Quin do? He recognizes who the defense is leaving open in an attempt to take Ingles out of the game and feeds them the ball non stop.

While true inconsistency is something that will always exist in the NBA, I don’t think it’s always the first thing to blame.

Just another example of how there are a million things going into this team that we, as fans, will never see or even understand.

#5 | Here’s hoping…

Who does Anthony Davis play for next season?

Game 05 Takeaways - Utah Jazz @ New Orleans Pelicans

While he’s still technically on contract with NOP, we know stars can basically make whatever they want happen.

The obvious choices here are the Los Angeles Lakers and the Boston Celtics, which leads me to my next question…

Does Boston include Haywood in a package to get AD in a Celtics uniform?

OF COURSE THEY DO.

But will it happen? Here’s hoping…

Game 04 Takeaways – Utah Jazz @ Houston Rockets

Utah Jazz Steal One on the Road as Mitchell Finally Breaks Out

The Utah Jazz began a four-game road trip yesterday against the Houston Rockets. The game is the first since Utah lost to Memphis at home earlier this week.

Many were wondering how this game would go following the Memphis debacle. Would the Jazz figure out their offensive woes? Did Donovan forget how to play basketball? Would the Jazz ever win again?!

Luckily, Chris Paul was suspended for a recent altercation between Houston and Los Angeles (I’m sure you heard…) and James Harden left in the fourth quarter with a hamstring issue.

The Utah Jazz were able to leave Houston with an important 100-89 win over the Rockets.

Now I’m not saying those two factors were the ENTIRE reason the Jazz won, but it definitely helped. #OntoTheNextOne

Quick Notes

#1 | Donovan Finally Wakes Up

One of the things I was most looking forward to seeing this season was how Donovan Mitchell would perform after all the pressure that came with his incredible rookie year.

While I expected there to be some setbacks, the first few games of the year had me sweating a little bit about the amount of pressure we were putting on Donovan.

Fortunately, any question I had about the sophomore was put to rest last night as he went off for 38 points against Houston.

After the game, Donovan explained some of the issues he’s been dealing with going into his second year.

“The past few games, I’d been struggling because I’d been kind of pressing the issue,” Mitchell said. “I came into [Wednesday’s game] with the mindset of just finding the open guy. That was really my biggest thing. Last year in the playoffs, there were games where I got too deep or too whatever, just kind of not making the right plays. To me, just being able to make the right reads early just allowed me to settle down and relax a little bit.

“I always put pressure on myself, whether it was last year at the beginning of the year or whatever, just to be perfect. Obviously, that’s impossible.”

We should all have the same attitude about this team.

Instead of incredibly high expectations, we should realize the game itself isn’t perfect, and neither will our team be.

Enjoy the ride people. It will be over before we know it!

#2 | How Much Did We Need This?

After attending Monday’s loss to Memphis at home, I personally needed this win more than most.

As a fan base, I don’t know that anyone was TOO concerned with some of the results we’d seen through the first week of regular season basketball.

However, I think there was a growing anxiety over the individual play of certain Jazz men.

It was good to see this type of win on the road at this moment in the season. I think it really helped the fan base get back on track in terms of supporting our team.

Now let’s keep it going!

#3 | …It’s More of a One-Headed Monster

Chris Paul was sitting out after last weekend’s altercation with Rajon Rondo and the Los Angeles Lakers.

James Harden, who was having a great game (as always), left the game with a hamstring issue in the fourth quarter.

Basically all the Jazz had left to deal with was… Carmelo Anthony?

What I’m trying to say is that I’m not actually sure how much of a test this game was. A healthy Houston team could be a whole different monster.

#4 | Tricky (to talk about) Ricky

Let me start this out by saying that I very much like Ricky Rubio on the Jazz and think he fits in very well.

But I can’t be the only one to see that he’s having some serious struggles to start off the year, right?

This time last season, I remember having similar thoughts. In fact, there was a time I even thought he’d be a good trade piece.

Is Ricky Rubio just going through the same stuff he was last year?

Will we see the return to normal?

I hope we find out sooner rather than later.

#5 | Rookies, Am I Right?

Grayson Allen is not afraid to shoot.

The dude has been in for single-digit minutes over the entire year combined. But last night, I watched him enter the game, shoot two threes and walk right back to the bench.

Is no hesitation a good or bad sign?

Game 03 Takeaways – Utah Jazz vs. Memphis Grizzlies

Game 03 Takeaways - Utah Jazz vs. Memphis Grizzlies

Game 03 Takeaways – Utah Jazz vs. Memphis Grizzlies

Like watching a car wreck in slow motion.

The Memphis Grizzlies came into Salt Lake City to face a Utah Jazz team looking to bounce back after Friday’s last-second loss to GSW.

Many, including us here on The Jazz Fan Show, believed this bounce back to be almost inevitable. One of us even believed a 15+-point victory was in store for the home team.

Unfortunately for Jazz fans (and hosts of the Jazz Fan Show), Memphis ends up leaving Utah with the 92-84 victory over the now 1-2 Jazz.

Watch the highlights below:

In Review

#1 | Would You Rather?

*May or May Not Actually Be True

Let me start off by telling you that as co-host of The Jazz Fan Show, I’ve basically become a full-fledged radio star*.

Because of this, people are always contacting me asking to donate incredible tickets to upcoming games*.

To start my Monday evening off right, I took advantage of my new star status* by taking in the following view in the arena:

Game 03 Takeaways - Utah Jazz vs. Memphis Grizzlies

I left the arena Monday night completely flabbergasted as to what I had just witnessed.

I was awake most of the night thinking the game over. During this time, I had the following question enter my mind:

Would you rather have incredible tickets to a terrible game, or terrible tickets to an incredible game?

Stay tuned for the results from my Twitter poll.

#2 | The Best Way To Start Your Day (Game)

Following the Utah Jazz loss to GSW on Friday, one might expect the team to be a little “hungover.”

Many teams, to combat this, go up-tempo. This gets the blood pumping and allows muscles to loosen up.

In fact, you could say running is the best way to start your day AND your game.

Unfortunately, the Utah Jazz vs. Memphis Grizzlies game was anything but an up-tempo game. Memphis knew exactly what to do, slowing the game down to a grind from the very beginning.

Perhaps Ricky Rubio described it best when he said Memphis took the Jazz out of what they do. Luckily, it’s still so SO early in the year.

I expect a correction to be made by the mad scientist Quin Snyder sooner than later.

#3 | Dare We Say It? Nay. We Daren’t.

Okay, look. I hate to say this. But I think the best way to handle this subject is to just confront it head-on.

… At what point do we know if we’re witnessing a Jazz Bear Curse?

jazzbearghost

#4 | Grayson Finally Debuts

I now get to tell my children and my children’s children that I was in attendance at the game Grayson Allen made his NBA debut for the Utah Jazz.

I’ll tell them the glorious tale of how his team couldn’t score to save their lives, so in what seemed to be a desperation attempt, Grayson was subbed in.

They’ll sit, completely silent when I tell them about his clear-path foul merely seconds after checking in. I can’t wait to witness their awe-struck faces as I recall Grayson’s two free throws, and of course, that three-point swish that made the Grizzlies call their final timeout before going on to still beat the Jazz.

I can’t wait. They’re all going to be so confused.

Oh PS, my wife thought it was funny that he wore gray shoes.

#5 | For Some Reason, It Just Hurts More

When Jonas Jerebko tipped in that game-winner, it hurt. Fortunately, that feeling didn’t last long because we had fought hard and were honestly supposed to lose the game.

When the Jazz couldn’t wake up to play Memphis, it hurt so much more. Why? Jazz were “supposed” to win.

Just another prime example of how expectation is the root of all evil.
